If
you've ever tried to submit an idea to a toy company, you know how
difficult it can be.
FunHouse makes it easy. Why? Because great new products are what we're
all about,
and we recognize a great idea no matter where it comes from.
HOW
TO SUBMIT AN IDEA IN 5 EASY STEPS!
1. Fill out the Inventor
Account Record.
2.
Print out, read, sign, and return via snail mail this disclosure
agreement:
3.
We will assign you an Inventor ID # after we receive your signed
disclosure agreement.
4.
Fill out this submission form.
5.
The very best way to sell your concept is to develop the idea as
far as possible before submitting.
This means you should include all drawings, descriptions, samples
and models you may have.
Incomplete submissions are more likely to be misunderstood and rejected.
Taking the time to show your concept in the best possible light
is the best way to get noticed.
Please
understand that our "Open Submission" policy means that
we are willing to review product concept submissions from a wide
array of sources. While this makes it possible for you to easily
submit your ideas for consideration as a manufactured item, it opens
FunHouse to a high degree of risk. If FunHouse decides that your
concept is viable and desires to take the item into production,
you will be offered our standard royalty of 5% of net sales on the
first $10 million dollars in sales and 2% on all sales thereafter.
Most offers include a guarantee and and advance payment on the guarantee,
based on the item and the target market. Patented concepts may receive
a higher royalty and are judged on a case by case basis. In order
to protect FunHouse and to enable us to offer this open forum to
the inventor community, all submissions become the property of FunHouse
upon receipt. This protects FunHouse from submissions that may be
similar to concepts already received by FunHouse, either internally
or externally. FunHouse fully documents each and every submission
so that all parties are protected. If your concept is rejected,
then all invention materials will be returned to you withing 10
working days. FunHouse will retain the original submission paperwork
for our records. You are free to pursue other toy companies with
your concepts until a retainer contract is in place. From time to
time, FunHouse pays inventors a retainer to secure the exclusive
right to review a concept for a time period agreed to by both parties.
Such retainers are offered when the concept justifies special treatment.
When the retainer contract expires, all materials and rights are
returned to the inventor. Please review the confientail disclosure
agreement for futher information and feel free to contact FunHouse
for further assistance.
